Welcome to my Web site, where you’ll find a wealth of information in the form of newsletter articles, calculators, and research reports.  But financial strategies are about something much more important than money -- it's about you, your family, and your goals. With so many complex financial products at our disposal, it's important to make decisions based on your unique situation and your values. Together we can plan strategy that is right for you and your family.

Before coming to this profession, I spent more than 15 years in not-for-profits working with individuals who were interested in leaving the world better than they found it. I bring that same approach to helping indviduals, families and business owners make financial decisions that help accumulate and protect the wealth they have worked so hard to acquire -- and to preserve and pass on that wealth for the people and causes that they care about.

I offer a broad range of financial products and services including:

  • Retirement Planning (Traditional, Rollover and Roth IRAs, 401k and 403B)
  • Investments (Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds and Annuities)
  • Risk Management (Life, Disability, Health and Long Term Care Insurance -- for groups and individuals)
  • College Funding (529 Plans)
  • Estate Planning Strategies

I started my practice with AXA Advisors in 2005 and I have the FINRA Registrations Series 7 and Series 66, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses. Raised in Loudon County, I have lived in Reston with my wife, Jan, and my daughter, Lauren , since 1990. I graduated from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1989.

If I can help you make informed financial decisions, please call me at (703) 819-0355.

Evaluating Life Insurance Needs

It's a good idea for people to evaluate their life insurance coverage to help ensure it keeps pace with their needs. Not only do major life events affect the amount of coverage that may be needed, but inflation can reduce the purchasing power of the death benefit and a greater benefit may be needed to cover estate taxes and other debts.

Using Living Benefits for Retirement Income

Many Americans are finding it difficult to predict how much they can save by retirement. Because traditional pensions are available to just one out of three workers today, a potential way of creating a guaranteed income stream in retirement is to purchase the guaranteed living benefits that are available with some variable annuities.

Finding a Good Time to Invest

When a prominent stock market index closes above an important threshold, many investors who have been sitting on the sidelines may see it as good time to invest, but they may have missed a significant part of the rally. Waiting for the "right" moment to invest could prove to be a costly and ineffective strategy.
